Recap of Guest Talk with USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services) Design Team

It was great to talk to the design team at USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services) as a guest speaker this morning. This team is tasked with the design of the Refugee and Asylum case management system and services for the United States government. Thank you Taylor Santos, Product Design Lead/ Manager, for the opportunity.

Structure-wise I dove into my design background and a couple design projects with the team, then we launched into several topics, including the importance of mission-drive work, finding your niche as a designer, the intertwined relationship between AI and data privacy, and tactics to advocate for product accessibility.
