Tufts University Guest Interview: Applied Software User Interface Design Course
Enjoyed attending Jonathan Kendler‘s Tuft’s University online course — ENP 166 (Applied Software User Interface Design) — for a guest interview, to share my career journey from sound design for film & games, to designer of software user interfaces, to hybrid efforts, where the two have overlapped. Interestingly that translation started while designing and developing an audio batch processing tool used on the game Unreal Championship 2 for Xbox. I shared that story, and afterwards delved deep into audio’s application in consumer electronics, medical pulse oximeter alerts, assisted reality + BCI head-mounted communication devices and other products that I’ve worked on over the years. Closed with advice on getting started doing UI sound design. Thanks for the opportunity.
